This weekend is all about love, family, and quality time together. We’ve planned a few moments to gather, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy Michigan at your own pace. Whether you’re with us the whole weekend or just a part of it, we’re so happy you’re here.

Thursday 9.24

Arrival at Goldberry WoodsSettle in, explore the property, or enjoy the area at your own pace. Light bites and grazing will be available throughout the day. Spend time by the pool, hike the trails, bike to the beach, or take out a kayak or canoe. If you’re feeling adventurous, nearby beach walks and antiquing are always a good idea. Happy Hour at the Barn, 5:00 PM estCheers with us at the Barn as we shake up craft cocktails and kick off the wedding weekend. Games &amp; Gathering, 6:00 PM estJoin us for some delicious BBQ at the Barn! Games will be out and ready: Scrabble, Bacci, Cornhole, Pac-Man, billiards, Splendor, and more. We’ll wrap the night with s’mores, a bonfire, and a little old-fashioned fun. Kindly note: Claire and Krupa are not allowed to compete on the same team.

Friday 9.25

Orchard Afternoon, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM estMeet us at the Barn at Goldberry Woods for a relaxed afternoon on the farmstead, hosted by Stacey and Judy. This gathering doubles as a non-traditional bridal luncheon. We’ll spend time together on the property, pick flowers and fresh fruit from the trees, and enjoy lunch in the orchard. Afterward, we’ll wind down poolside for a laid-back afternoon overlooking the farm. Kids are welcome! Everyone is welcome to join, though this gathering is especially intended for the girls, gays, and theys. For fellas looking for a different daytime plan, we recommend organizing a golf outing nearby or checking out our Things to Do page for inspo. Casual, farm-friendly attire. Welcome Dinner &amp; Drinks, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM estJourneyman Distillery109 Generations Dr, Three Oaks, MIDinner and cocktails as we spend the evening together before the big day, hosted by Deb and Tony. Welter’s Folly, the distillery’s world-renowned 18-hole putting green, will be open for anyone up for a round. Casual cocktail attire.

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be held at <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/HqiaFXaiE9iuqoee6" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Goldberry Woods</a>, located at 9902 Community Hall Rd. It’s an easy and scenic getaway from Chicago and the surrounding Midwest. Just outside New Buffalo in Southwest Michigan, the property is most easily reached by car. Don't forget the time zone change! Friendly reminder for our out of town guests. Chicago is on Central Time, and Michigan is one hour ahead on Eastern Time. Plan + set your clocks accordingly :) By CarApproximate Drive Times• Chicago: 1.25 hours• South Bend: 30 minutes• Indianapolis: 2.5 hours• Detroit: 3 hours By AirFor guests flying in, the most convenient airports are:• Chicago Midway International Airport (1 hour 15 minutes)• Chicago O’Hare International Airport (1 hour 30 minutes)• South Bend International Airport (40 minutes) Chicago airports offer the greatest number of direct flight options. Things to Do

We met the old-fashioned way - online. Lauren’s profile was a quiet siren call that simply read, “Who wants to get high and go to a museum?” Little did Lauren know, that was already Kate’s favorite pastime. We started dating in the middle of the pandemic, when bars and restaurants were off the table. Our first date wasn’t over cocktails or dinner, but on a walk through the woods. It felt natural, and it stuck. Since then, wandering forest trails has been one of our favorite ways to be together. When we started dating, we escaped to Goldberry Woods for a quiet weekend away. We fell in love with the woods, the lake, and the calm the place holds. Returning each year on our anniversary became a tradition before we even realized we were starting one. So it feels only right that we’re getting married the same way it all began: outside, surrounded by trees, in a place that has meant so much to us from the very start. We’re so happy to share it with you.

When and where is the wedding?Our ceremony and reception will be held at Goldberry Woods in Union Pier, Michigan. What’s the dress code?Autumn Cocktail. Think elevated, seasonal, and comfortable. A cocktail dress with your favorite cashmere sweater or a sharp suit with softer textures, polished boots, loafers all fit the vibe. We’ll be outdoors on grass, so sensible shoes are encouraged. Will events be indoors or outdoors?The ceremony and dinner will take place outdoors. As dusk sets in, the celebration will move indoors for dancing and the rest of the evening. Are children invited?Yes, we love kids and invite them to the Ceremony and Dinner. Please let us know in your RSVP if you plan to bring children, and any dietary restrictions for their meal.When dancing starts around 8:00pm, we’ll ask children to head out for the evening. Are all the events on the agenda required?Absolutely not. Everything outside of the Wedding Celebration is entirely optional. Come for what sounds fun, skip what doesn’t, and make the weekend your own. Where should we stay?There are several great lodging options in Union Pier and nearby New Buffalo. Is the property hard to navigate on foot?Not at all. The ceremony, dinner, and reception spaces are very close together and easy to move between.
